Hands Together (legal name: Organisme Mains Ensemble, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect on handstogether.charity, why, and how you can exercise your rights, in accordance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

2. Information we collect
- When you give online: name, email, address and gift amount. The form is provided by Donorbox. Payment is processed by its payment partners (such as Stripe or PayPal). We never see or store your card number.
- When you give by cheque or Interac e-Transfer: the name, address or email shown on the payment.
- When you subscribe to our newsletter: email (and first name if you provide it). The form is provided by Brevo.
- When you write or call us: the information you choose to share.
3. Why we use it
- To process your gift and thank you.
- To send you news about the mission, if you have agreed.
- To answer your questions.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
4. Cookies and local storage
This site uses no analytics, no advertising and no tracking pixels. Fonts are hosted on our own server. The site only stores the following small items in your browser:

These items are needed for the site to work properly and are not used to identify you. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Embedded third-party services: the donation form and “Donate” button (Donorbox) and the newsletter form (Brevo) may set their own cookies, which they need to work and to keep payments secure. The Facebook and Instagram links load nothing until you click them.
5. Sharing with third parties and outside Québec
To operate, we use service providers who may store your information outside Québec (including in the United States or Europe):
- Donorbox (donation form) and its payment processors: Donorbox privacy policy
- Brevo (newsletter): Brevo privacy policy
- Our web host.
We choose providers that offer adequate protection and share only what is necessary.
6. Retention and security
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, accounting records). The site is protected by a secure connection (HTTPS). Access to information is limited to the volunteer board members who need it.
7. Your rights
At any time, you may:
- ask to access or correct your information;
- withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter (link at the bottom of every email);
- ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal obligations.
Write to us at info@handstogether.charity. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
8. Photos of the children
Photos of the children and activities in Pakistan are published with the permission of those responsible in the field. To protect the children, we remove location data from photos before publishing them. To request removal of a photo, please write to us.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
